Other than that, they're mostly just regular folks with better-than average incomes, (for now, anyway) worse-than-average schedules and the whole variety of personalities - arrogant, insecure, and everything in between. So what I'm trying to say is dont' stereotype airline pilots because of the misconceptions of TV, media, etc.
It saddens me that people stereotype people based on their jobs! Had I had the same attitude I would have missed out on a wonderful friendship. I'm talking maybe 30 of them that I have met. I am open to being with a guy who treats me right, has a steady job, and is a kind, loving, honest and caring man. It can also lead a pilot down a slippery slope, by creating a relationship that doesnt require regular check-ins or one that doesnt hold them accountable for their actions. And virtually all are realy great people. I can only remember one with a God complex, and he was Airforce. Just as in life and any profession, the good mixed with the bad. Pilots live a life on the go, and time apart from their partners is unavoidable. All of which I had to drive to him.
